Generative AI and the College Research Paper

Working with the Scholarship & Research team in the library and others from around campus, we are developing some training, best practices, and policy recommendations for accommodating ChatGPT and other generative AI technologies in the college classroom.

Specifically, I have been working on resources around ChatGPT in the classroom and instructional design; writing a SMU libraries blog post (part of a series) on this topic on the teaching/learning affordance and challenges of AI in the classroom.

We have also developed introductory workshops on workshops on Artificial Intelligence as part of our workshops on Scholarship & Research topics. We have had an introduction to text mining series, where we discussed relevant Machine Learning topics, such as Natural Language Processing.

We are also developing additional workshop series on this topic with other units on campus including small group faculty meetings or round table discussions.
