Research Basic Instructional Videos

I led the development of a series of online videos aimed at enhancing Information Literacy instruction at UNC. These videos, inspired by Lee LeFever’s Common Craft style, provide narrative-based explanations for the core concepts of Information Literacy and are designed to be flexible and easily adaptable for use in various learning environments. The use of these videos led to increased consistency in library instruction and encouraged librarians to incorporate more active learning practices.

To create the videos, I worked with a team of graduate assistants to establish a streamlined production workflow, covering every aspect of video development from brainstorming and script writing, to animation and audio recording, to final video editing and posting. The team utilized tools like Prezi, iMovie, Audacity, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop to produce the videos, which are hosted on UNC Libraries’ YouTube page.
